HIKING
The Original Stairmaster Program!

Sunny and 75 degrees... must be January in Malibu.

Busch Dr. above Zuma Beach.

Yoga and hiking go great together
(just don't lose your tofu and roll down the hill).

The adventurous elevate to new heights while the less daring stay on the road.
Busch Dr. just west of Pepperdine in Malibu.

For all fitness levels
I offer individual and group guided hikes and trail runs.

The Westridge Singletrack is a popular hiking trail just North of West LA.

There is no substitution for
real outdoor aerobic training.

Domestic trail, wild flower.

Motivation is easy to find while exploring the hundreds of miles of trails
along the Santa Monica Mountains. Frequently there are 'just for fun'
weekend group hikes for all levels. These are free and open to everyone.
A great 'go at your own pace' way to spend a weekend afternoon.
Please bring water, snack food, shoes with traction, a hat for the sun,
your friends, mature children, and even your favorite canine companion.

I do take advanced clients on
more challenging power hikes...

The mountain in the background can be seen in the opening credits of M*A*S*H* and
on the trails high above Malibu Canyon State Park (this info. is great for Trivial Pursuit).

...these trails are steep!

Hiking this trail at sea level in California will get the legs prepared
for hiking a 'real' mountain trail at 13,000 ft. in Colorado.

13,000 feet and still going up... this not so local trail is well worth the journey.
Mt. of the Holy Cross in the Vail backcountry.

The Holy Cross Wilderness and the Gore Range of Vail
are pristine areas that leave one breathless
(elevation averages @ 10,000 ft.).

At just over 14,000 feet, summiting Mt. of the Holy Cross is a challenge for any athlete.
It stands alone with views that leave one with a sense of exhilarated humility.

Please note:
Colorado is not just for skiing, hiking, and biking.
There is also river rafting, kayaking, climbing, horseback riding, fly fishing,
fine dining, full service health spas and beautiful world class golf courses.
Almost makes me forget about the skiing.

From 1993 to 1999 I lived, skied, hiked, biked,
and 'found myself' in Vail, CO. I can arrange
for inexpensive to 5 star luxury
(slopeside)
accommodations year round.

(my old ski bum friends are now the managers)

(I have no idea how they got hired)

P.S.

I know some of the most beautiful mountain ranges by heart.
