Indoor Rock Climbing
Want to get strong and have fun?

One of my climbing partners, Dr. Alex Thayer,
is an 'emergency room' doctor...
of course.

When following proper 'top-rope' climbing
procedures in an indoor gym, the chances
of falling are almost ZERO!

Please note:
Climbing is one of the most challenging fitness
endeavors. There
are risk factors involved.
This activity is not for everyone.

The biggest danger I have climbing inside is a
deep desire to climb outside.

A beginner in an indoor rock gym under the supervision of a
climbing instructor has a very minimal risk of injury. Falling
is virtually eliminated when properly secured on a
'top-rope' belay harness system.

Brian is part chameleon.

My other climbing partner, Dr. Brady Pregerson, is also
an emergency room physician.... I'm not kidding, this is
the truth - I swear; coincidence or fate? I do not know.
Dr. Pregerson is also a super-athlete, full-time doc, full-time
husband, and a full-time father with 3 children.
He really makes me feel lazy.

This is Dr. Alex Thayer 'lead climbing'. Here he is attempting twice
as much crack as compared to the average physician. Lead climbing
indoors is as safe as your belay partners attention span.

Want to climb outside?

I can personally recommend numerous outdoor
instructors who love to give discounts:

Or,
if you would just like to meet other climbers
to partner with inside and out.

Tobey Maguire? No, these are the real spider men and women who
don't need web shooters or ropes or a Hollywood special effects team.
At only 12 feet with plenty of crash pads, the 'bouldering wall' is more
about strain-pain than danger-pain. My biggest fear here is embarrassment.

Serious injuries are very rare inside;
m
inor pains are daily.

"Hey Steve, did you ever get that health insurance policy?"
Rock climbing instructor, Steve Schnells, is giving his
mother an ulcer, one 'Chimney Tower' (5.12A) at a time.

Andrew "Saran Wrap-man" Walters on 'Dancing Outlaw', rated @ V-8.
If you think a V-8 is something you drink...
you shouldn't try this.

Please note:
A cautious advanced outdoor climber is at
less risk in comparison to a careless beginner.
